MULTIPALEOIBERIA is a collaborative and interdisciplinary research project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and led by Dr. Manuel Alcaraz-Castaño at the University of Alcalá (Spain).
MULTIPALEOIBERIA investigates population dynamics and human-environment interactions of the last Neandertals and first Modern Humans in inland Iberia based on a macro-regional and interdisciplinary project.
Research is divided in six main work packages including field surveys, excavations, chronometric dating, palaeocological studies, and techno-economic, symbolic and spatial analyses.
Coordinated by the PI and the Core team, MULTIPALEOIBERIA involves a large network of researchers, collaborators and students.
Keep informed on our research activities, involving both fieldwork and labwork in a wide range of fields in Prehistory, Archaeology, the Geosciences and Palaeoecology.
Research is being published in high impact journals, conference proceedings and other scientific media. All of them are open-access publications.
