MULTIPALEOIBERIA ERC Project

MULTIPALEOIBERIA is a collaborative and interdisciplinary research project funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and led by Dr. Manuel Alcaraz-Castaño at the University of Alcalá (Spain).

Project

MULTIPALEOIBERIA investigates population dynamics and human-environment interactions of the last Neandertals and first Modern Humans in inland Iberia based on a macro-regional and interdisciplinary project.

Work Packages

Research is divided in six main work packages including field surveys, excavations, chronometric dating, palaeocological studies, and techno-economic, symbolic and spatial analyses.

Team

Coordinated by the PI and the Core team, MULTIPALEOIBERIA involves a large network of researchers, collaborators and students.

Research

Keep informed on our research activities, involving both fieldwork and labwork in a wide range of fields in Prehistory, Archaeology, the Geosciences and Palaeoecology.

Publications

Research is being published in high impact journals, conference proceedings and other scientific media. All of them are open-access publications.
